Step One

A client approached me about needing an entertainment center in an unusual location.    After a mulling over several options, we decided on a design.

First, the space was carefully measured.  Then a sketch was made.  Because of the  nature of the stone, a jig was made out of steel and allthread was used to transfer the measurements.  The allthread is the red thing you see in the right corner.  Tv%20stand%20with%20leaves.jpgAn organic piece like this gives a lot of leeway during actual construction so the final product may not appear exactly the same as the sketch.

Step Two

After the jig was built, individual components were forged and then brought over to the jobsite to test the fit in place.

After this was mocked up, a few more measurements were confirmed and the piece was taken back to the shop...

Still going...

This is the backside of the piece in progress, it is there to hide the wires.

This is it attached to the base.

Here it is detached from the base a few hours later.
